MIDLAND, Texas – Midland Christian School is proud to announce that sophomore pitcher Maddy Munoz has been selected as the 2025–26 NCSAA Varsity Fast-Pitch Softball Large-School National Pitcher of the Year by the National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA). The award represents the highest individual recognition in Christian school athletics for her position.
The NCSAA serves more than 550 member schools across the United States. Selecting a Player of the Year involves an extensive review process comparing individual player statistics, personal season performance, and overall team results, making this distinction among the most competitive honors in Christian school sports.
Munoz's award-winning season also earned her placement on the NCSAA All-American First Team and a selection to the Central US Super-Regional Team, a rare trifecta of national honors for a sophomore.
On the mound, Munoz recorded more than 240 strikeouts with a 1.7 ERA this season, pushing her past 400 career strikeouts.
“Maddy is a one of a kind student-athlete. She has a gritty attitude on the mound, a fearless approach to every batter and never backs down from an opponent. Her youthful spirit and unrelenting drive creates a magnetic effect that pulls you in as you watch her take the mound.”
“This honor, along with Maddy’s season accomplishments, over 240 strikeouts, a 1.7 ERA, 400+ career strikeouts, reflect countless hours of hard work on and off the field, her passion for the game and her unrelenting drive to be the best.”
– Stephanie Honaker, Head Softball Coach, Midland Christian School
Munoz and the Mustangs were also represented on the Central US Super-Regional Team by teammates Kyler Graham (Senior, INF) and Annie Munoz (Senior, INF), underscoring the depth and talent of the 2025–26 MCS softball program.
