He has 118 carries for 1,040 yards and 9 TD this season. Schmidtke has the 3rd most rushing yards in TAPPS Div 1 behind Parish Episcopal’s RB Andrew Paul (1,399) and Midland Christian’s QB Ryver Rodriguez (1,134). Bishop Lynch has used two QBs this season, #12 Austin Schnurr and #15 Cooper Alford. The leading receiver for Lynch is #8 Ethan Morrison. Morrison has 21 receptions, 237 yards and 1 TD. The Mustangs

Midland Christian picked up a pivotal win last week in the home finale against Plano Prestonwood. The Mustangs 27-21 win put them in position to clinch the #2 seed and a first round playoff bye with a win tonight and a Parish victory over All Saints. MCS has never won on Bishop Lynch’s home field. The only previous trips were in 2003 and 2015. Senior dual threat QB #3 Ryver Rodriguez leads the team with 2,825 yards (1,134 Rushing / 1,691 Passing) and 36 TD (22 Rushing / 14 Passing) this season. The Mustangs will be missing some big weapons on offense as their three leading receivers -Sean Madison, Jack King, and Chandler Caraway are all out with injuries. Junior #4 Blake Pruitt has stepped up at WR and has 11 receptions, 234 yards and 1 TD. The two H-Backs, #45 Carson Hufford (8 Rec, 124 Yds, 2 TD) and #35 Eli Price (10 Rec, 94 Yds, 1 TD) are key factors in both the Mustangs running & passing game. Junior RB #6 Nathaniel Brito has 536 yards and 3 TD on 89 carries. The MCS defense had 3 interceptions last week. Senior Safety #24 Cole Gunter was named TXPSFB Player of the Week with 13 tackles, 2 INT, and 2 pass break ups. Senior MLB #13 Brody Dickson had the game winning INT as the Mustang defense sealed the win. MCS is averaging 36 points per game while giving up an average of 23 points per game.
