MCS is using a computer program called Renaissance Place at school. This program has a feature called Home Connect that allows MCS and you to share in the educational experience by viewing progress in the Accelerated Reader program. You can even set to be notified by e-mail showing your students quiz results.

The Star Club
In order to become a member of the Star Club each student must meet his or her grade level goal by reading a book, taking an AR test and passing the test. The AR Program keeps a running total for the school year, and each six weeks (or current marking period) of the student's points and word count. Once the goal has been achieved, then the student will be inducted into the club after chapel on a date to be determined by the principals. You and your child may check reading progress on the Accelerated Reading Home Connect page found above.
Grade Level Goals:
1st - 100,000 words
2nd - 200,000 words
3rd - 500,000 words
4th - 1,000,000 words
5th - 1,500,000 words
6th - 2,000,000 words
