Summer Reading

For 2018 summer reading, Midland Christian School students follow the appropriate requirements for their English AND Bible class. 
Every student will have one required book to read based on the grade they will be in during the 2018-2019 school year (see required list below).  Every student will take a test over the required book the first day of English class. 
NEW THIS YEAR:  Every 7-12 grade student will be required to read I Kings, NIV version.  Every 7-12 grade student will take a test over I Kings, NIV version, the first day of their bible class.

7th- Peak by Roland Smith and I Kings, NIV version
8th- Outsiders by SE Hinton and I Kings, NIV version
9th- The Pigman by Paul Zindel and I Kings, NIV version
10th- Honors- Unbroken (The Young Adult Adaptation): An Olympian's Journey from Airman to Castaway to Captive by Laura Hillenbrand (in paperback) and I Kings, NIV version
         Non-honors-Unbroken (The Young Adult Adaptation): An Olympian's Journey from Airman to Castaway to Captive by Laura Hillenbrand (in paperback) and I Kings, NIV version
11th- Dual Credit- Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers or Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore and I Kings, NIV version
         Honors- Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers or Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore and I Kings, NIV version
